Located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas and the surrounding towns of San José Del Cabos and Todos Santos are some of our favorite destinations for relaxing, recharging, and unplugging. If you’re ready for an escape, imagine the sound of waves crashing in the background, a warm breeze in the air, and a cold margarita in your hand as we share our favorite places to eat, sip, stay, and play in Cabo!
EAT + DRINK
From fresh-caught fish, to local farm-to-table eats, and the best fish tacos in town, here’s where team ALOHA loves to eat in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and Todos Santos!
Field Kitchen at Flora Farms, San José Del Cabo $$
Field Kitchen is no ordinary restaurant, it is a culinary experience not to be missed while vacationing in Cabo. After a slow and windy drive down a dirt road, you’ll arrive at this magical 25-acre organic working farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San José del Cabo. Reservations are essential!
Las Guacamayas, San Jose Del Cabo, $
A popular spot with tourists and locals alike, Las Guacamayas features super authentic (and super affordable) Mexican food. There are three locations, two in Cabo San Lucas, and the original in San José del Cabo. Don’t miss the tacos stuffed with chorizo pork and the quesadillas filled with pumpkin flowers!
Mariscos El Compa Chava, Todos Santos, $
This is our favorite cevicheria in Baja! We always opt for their ceviche tostadas (order the crab), and the “descondido” ceviche, which is made with the fresh catch of the day.
La Esquina, Todos Santos, $
Working on the go or looking for a healthy lunch spot? La Esquina is the place! Located outside the main strip of Todos Santos this outdoor oasis serves up fresh smoothies, house-made breads, and local coffee. Before you go, be sure to check out their community board for local happenings like live music and artists highlights.
The Office, Cabo San Lucas, $$
Yes, it’s touristy, but a trip to The Office is always a good time! A great place to enjoy a meal and a few cold margs with the waves crashing just a few feet from your table. Go for the people watching and stay for the Caesar salad which is made tableside from scratch!
7 Seas Seafood Grille, Los Cabos, $$$
7 Seas, located at the Cabo Surf Hotel, is an open-air restaurant with beautiful Pacific Ocean views and a seafood-forward menu. Bartenders start shaking margaritas by noon so take a break from the beach and enjoy some of the best fish tacos in Cabo. 7 Seas is also great for a casual sunset dinner.
Rooftop Bar at The Cape, Los Cabos, $$
The Cape hotel has the only rooftop bar and lounge in Cabo San Lucas. Chill out on the open-air terrace complete with a beer pergola and take in the stunning views overlooking Monuments Beach and El Arco.
Acre Baja, Los Cabos, $$$
Acre is the definition of farm-to-table. The entire property is a tropical oasis in the middle of the desert, complete with horse stables, pickleball courts, a 25-acre farm, and surprises around every corner! The restaurant and bar are at the center of it all, add in Mezcal tastings to make this the perfect spot for a grown-up version of Spring Break.
STAY
Cabo Surf Hotel, Los Cabos $$$
Our team LOVES staying at Cabo Surf! This surfer-friendly boutique hotel is located on one of the most popular surfing beaches in the area, Costa Azul. You can rent boards on the beach and wake up to a morning surf check from your balcony!
The Cape, A Thompson Hotel $$$$
This place is a dream! Located on a stretch of oceanfront overlooking Monuments Beach (a popular surfing spot), the Cape transports you to paradise from the second you step foot into their gorgeous open-air lobby. Watch whales play from the edge of the infinity pool and catch some of the most beautiful views of the iconic Arco from your balcony.
Cabo Azul Hotel, Los Cabos, $$
Cabo Azul Resort is great resort for families! It is located on a beautiful stretch of beach in Los Cabos with spacious suites and villas with private balconies, living rooms, and large, luxurious bathrooms. There is a Javier’s Restaurant onsight, a tri-level infinity pool with a swim-up bar, plus an adult-only pool and a kids' pool.
SEE + DO
Surf Nine Palms
Nine Palms is one of the most popular surf spots on the East Cape and should definitely be on your Cabo itinerary. From March to October (Spring/Summer) the swells coming from the south bring with them fun surf sessions at this point break, a good option if the day is not windy.
Shopping in Todos Santos
We love heading into Todos Santos for a day of shopping! Head to Nomad Chic if you want some chic beachwear like caftans, bags, Mexican blankets, and handmade accessories. Etnica Todos Santos sells gorgeous local clothing and leather goods that are made using traditional techniques by local artisans.
Whale Watching
Season: December 15th – April 15th
During the winter, Cabo is a prime location for watching the migrating humpback whales. Book a zodiac tour with Cabo Expeditions! You can also day trip to La Paz to swim alongside whale sharks if you’re up for a more adventurous experience.
El Arco
‘El Arco’, the Sea Arch, also known as Land’s End Arch, is a must-see while visiting Cabo. Created by natural erosion, you can walk up to this iconic landmark along the beach at low tide or see it up close from a boat.
PRO TIPs:
Timeshare salespeople at the airport can be aggressive as you pass through baggage claim, and drivers will approach you with offers to take you to your hotel. Say a firm but polite, "No, gracias”, and head for the exit! We highly recommend making arrangements for transportation in advance through your hotel or online with a local service.
